Trade is Pakistan's first Online Trading site that enables
investors to trade at the Karachi Stock Exchange using
their PCs from anywhere at any time. AKD Trade started
operations in November, 2002 and has since received
an overwhelming response from investors. A division
of AKD Securities, Pakistan's largest stock brokerage
firm, AKD Trade's mission is to provide retail investors
maximum access to Pakistan's capital markets.

order processing system for stock trades in the country.

of AKD Securities Ltd., the country's largest
stock brokerage firm. AKD Trade was launched on the 1
st of November, 2002 at a ceremony inaugurated by the
Finance Minister of Pakistan, Mr. Shaukat Aziz. In addition
to being the fastest way to trade stocks, AKD Trade also
offers the safest way to trade because there is no human
intervention in the entire order processing system.
On the 20th of May, 2003 , AKD Trade
reached yet another milestone when the Prime Minister
of Pakistan, Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali conducted the
first real-time online stock trade through the Internet,
using the AKD Trade system. |

After introducing real-time
transactions through the Internet, AKD Trade in collaboration
with Ufone launched "Pocket Stocks" on June 17 th, 2003
at a ceremony held at the Karachi Stock Exchange building
from inside the Trading Hall. The Pocket Stocks ceremony
was graced by the presence of The Federal Minister for
IT & Telecommunications, Mr. Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari.
Pocket Stocks is the first product of its kind and has
been developed from the ground-up, entirely in Pakistan
. It is the first application in the world that provides
real time, updated stock market information to mobile
phone users.
In essence, AKD Trade has brought
the
Stock Market to the computer screen of the investor,
enabling order placement at the Stock Exchange with
utmost ease. In addition to broadening the investor
base of the Karachi Stock Exchange, this initiative
has also helped in strengthening the capital markets
of Pakistan. It is a huge step forward towards creating
the right opportunities for investors to make investment
decisions with convenience and towards building an investor-friendly
